Josh Keady- Unnumbered entry: Car accident, step one

I was sitting in line at Dutch Bros. in Corvallis today when something caught my eye:

Take a look at that truck.  Aside from not having any front bumper (which is on my no-no list), does anything look awry?  Look at the driver’s front tire... see that white stripe?  That’s where the tire’s tread has worn down to the point where the belts are showing through.  In other words, that’s a tire that is ready to self destruct.

What we have here is a lifted 3/4 or 1-ton four wheel drive truck with no front bumper and at least one tire that’s seriously unsafe.  It’s idiots like this that make it really hard for people like me to enjoy the automotive hobby.

Granted, it’s expensive to replace 33 or 35” tires, but A: Tire stores sell used tires on the cheap and ANYTHING is better than what’s on that truck and B: A quick search on Craigslist showed several listings for reasonably-priced tires that’d fit those rims.  Hopefully this knuckle head was on his way to get some new meats (not bloody likely) and not on his way to the freeway.  That whole setup is a big ugly wreck waiting to happen.
